1 night - San José
3 nights - San Isidro de El General (Valley of El General)
3 nights - San Gerardo de Dota (highlands of Talamanca - tropical oak cloud forest and paramos)
3 nights - La Selva (Caribbean lowland rainforest and open environments)

Day 1
Arrive in Costa Rica at SJO, transfer to the hotel.
Day 2
Travel over the mountains to reach El General Valley, home for our exploration for the next two days.
Birding en route. Stay in small hotel near the town of San Isidro from where all explorations will take place.
Day 3 and 4
Two full days to explore the area. Country side roads, Los Cusingos Reserve, Tinamastes Ridge, Cloudbridge Reserve.
Day 5
Drive up the mountains, explore several middle elevation forest and high elevation paramo habitats as we go up, destination is San Gerardo de Dota.
Day 6 and 7
Two full amazing days to explore trails, roadsides and hummingbird feeding stations. Some good owling also one or two nights as you wish.
Day 8
Drive to La Selva de Sarapiqui. Some birding en route but the main objective is to reach La Selva for some good afternoon birding. Night walk for owls and wildlife.
Day 9
A full day in paths and open areas of La Selva.
Day 10
Drive a few minutes for a day trip to visit Cope’s Feeders and Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Day 11
Early birding in La Selva, breakfast, drive back to the Central Valley. Explore Cinchona and Vara Blanca on the way. Arrive at the hotel in San José.
Day 12
Transport to the airport. Return home.

The price of the trip can be adjusted according to the number of people in the group. Single occupancy rates can be supplied. This tour operates during the green season from August to October. Different rates apply if requested outside that time frame.
